2019 Small Business BC Awards
Entrepreneurs Celebrated at the 16th Annual Small Business BC Awards
Last night I was honoured to attend the 16th Annual Small Business BC Awards Gala as a guest of the BC Small Business Roundtable. The night was both a celebration and a showcase of the incredible talent, diversity and entrepreneurial spirit of small businesses throughout British Columbia.
Winners included Coulson Ice Blast from Port Alberni, who won the Best Innovation Award for their ecologically friendly industrial cleaning systems, Moving2Canada.com, who won Best Immigrant Entrepreneur Award for their one-stop-shop approach to providing free transition resources for new immigrants, and Barnacle Systems, who won the Best Concept Award for their maritime remote monitoring device. And that barely scratches the surface.
What was most impressive throughout the evening was the breadth of innovation currently coming out of British Columbia. From hardware manufacturing, to online services, brick and mortar shops to import/export businesses with global reach, there seemed to be no limit to the scope of industries covered, or to the ambitions of the entrepreneurs in attendance.
