Tech, meet Cannabis
Last night we attended the Vancouver Entrepreneur Forum’s event, Cannabis Post Legalization: Successes and Challenges and were excited to once again see first hand how the bourgeoning cannabis sector is reaching out for tech solutions at each level of the product cycle. After the past year of unprecedented growth and marketplace consolidation, we are seeing the industry focus on gaining a competitive advantage through adopting innovative technology. Enter, local tech entrepreneurs!
This month, cannabis tech was on display at the pitch portion of VEF’s event, with local companies, Buddi, a cannabis-specific CRM, and Elevated Signals, which provides a digital cultivation management platform for growers, pitching for capital and developers. The panel itself was filled with leaders from Rubicon Organics, Valens GroWorks Corp., and Harvest One who shared their thoughts on the opportunities for technology and innovation in the cannabis sector.
As startup and cannabis lawyers, we’re thrilled to work with companies seeking to take advantage of innovation and those entrepreneurs actively taking on opportunities in a new market. We’re looking forward to seeing more and more companies collaborate to solve challenges in cultivation, extraction, infusion, and retail experience (to name only a few).
